Have you ever…

  • “Struggled with your weight after once being a very active?”
  • “Found yourself eating emotionally out of control after a negative life event?”
  • “Gained or held onto unwanted weight because you were stressed out?”
  • “Followed diet after diet and used supplement after supplement, yet found no results?”
  • “Worked out for hours upon hours at a gym, but saw your results plateau?”
  • “Agonized over when you’d find the time to workout as a parent with a career?”
  • “Made excuses as to why you don’t have the time to work out?”

If any of these ring true for you, then we’re a lot alike. I want you to know that I’m just like you and I’m here to help you reach your goals.

Chubby 7th Grady Kid Turns Athlete

Darrell in 8th Grade

Even though I’ve been active in sports activities since the age of 7, maintaining my weight has not always been easy.  I was made fun of as a chunky kid in my youth.  I started playing football and baseball and succeeded in both sports through high school.

Just a few years prior I played running back, but put on a bunch of weight and was moved to the line.

I found the gym at age 16, lost some weight and finished playing football and baseball as a successful athlete as I finished high school.

At age 22, while going to college, holding down a full-time job I was blessed with the birth of my first son.  I continued playing competitive men’s softball with a number of my high school baseball team members as many as 4x per week (including tournaments both in and outside the Las Vegas area.)

After deciding to put my focus on finishing school, I took a break from softball but knew I needed to stay active and joined Gold’s Gym.  I quickly took up the idea of bodybuilding around the age of 24.

Although, I never had any intention of competing on stage, me and a few friends trained as if we would and gained pretty decent physiques.

Battling Weight Gain After College

However at age 27 (1997), now a father of 2 boys and business professional, I found myself struggling with my weight again as I started working in my career from a desk.

My once active lifestyle was now a desk job and I was eating donuts, bagels and other available crap in the office.

This continued until about 2002 when I’d sort of had enough and I decided to get back into the gym and join a 90-day challenge to push myself and help me stay on track.

This would end up being a GREAT DECISION.

I entered the national challenge called “Body for Life” and 90 days later, I’d lost 36 pounds and about 14% of my body fat.  It was one of the toughest things I’d ever done.  My results placed me in the top 2,000 out of over 60,000 participants.  Something, I’m still he was very proud of today.

*Remember, I was a parent (2 boys by then), a parent, a business professional and had been making tons of excuses as to why I wasn’t able to lose the weight.

Here are my photos from that 2002 challenge. (I couldn’t believe I actually found these.)

The Challenge After The Challenge

As soon as it was over, I didn’t keep up with the rigorous training program and strict diet and guess what? I slowly gained the weight back over the next year or two. Anyone know what a yo-yo is? LOL

So fast forward to the age of 40 in 2010.

Yes, you guessed it, once again I was looking for a solution and saw an Insanity commercial and decided to give it a try.

I received a call from my coach and now friend Julie Wainer who would support me through my journey. I didn’t have to pay her a dime.

She was just there to answer any questions I had about the program I’d purchase and give me support to help me reach my goals.

So I began my 60-day journey with Insanity and decided to let the whole world see my progress on my YouTube channel.  I video recorded some of my Insanity fit tests.

Before long, people who were watching and considering buying the workout were commenting, encouraging me and asking questions they wanted to know about the workout.

To date, my channel now has over 850,000 video views and over 2,000 comments (kinda crazy if you ask me).

First – I’m a coach who is just a regular guy (parent and business owner with a hectic schedule, family life and all that jazz) who has found success working out at home with proven exercise programs and flexible nutrition plans.

I’ve journeyed through the ups and down of living a healthy and active lifestyle. who loves to coach and motivate others to reach their goals.

Second – As a Coach, I help people through my Facebook page, this blog and email providing tips that will help you stay motivated and reach your fitness and nutrition goals.

Note: My passion for coaching was born in my 20s as a young business leader. Then during a period of 8 years of coaching youth football and basketball.  I love inspiring and helping people reach their dreams…It’s just how I’m wired.

Third – I start at least one online challenge group per month where groups of my customers all participate in a private online Facebook group (or our app) to get help and encouragement from a REAL COMMUNITY of people just like them.

If you’ve struggled to stay committed, joining my next challenge group could be one of the best decisions you’ve ever made.

Inside, these groups, me and my team of coaches are answering questions, providing video support, live videos and being there to support you 100% of the way. Learn more about my next challenge group below.

Fourth and Final – My main goal is to be here for those who have made a decision to stop making excuses and do something about their health and fitness before it’s too late.  I’m not promising you 6 pack abs, lose 50 pounds or 6 inches off your waist because frankly, it’s up to you.

I have no idea if how committed you are to your health and fitness.

What I do know is that if you’re ready to make a decision, then I can recommend a fitness, nutrition and support program just for you.
